Welcome to the Boulders OHV Staging and Camping Area, the gateway to the Hieroglyphic Mountains. Recreational enthusiasts are welcome to stage and camp in this area for up to 2 weeks per month. This staging area was built using OHV Decal money provided by AZ State Parks and built by the Bureau of Land Management with the help of many volunteer groups. This staging area is the hub for recreational land users to access over 200 miles of roads and trails. Just past the restrooms, parents will see a “tot-lot” training area to help youth riders learn to ride. For safety, please use this area to teach your children to ride and do not let them ride in the staging area. Please use our trails responsibly, any vehicle over 24 inches wide is not allowed on single track trails. OHV use is limited to existing roads or trails and target shooting is not allowed within ¼ mile of this staging area. Please check the kiosk for a map of the area. In order to ride on public lands users must comply with state and federal law. Some of those requirements are:
• A license plate and OHV decal on all vehicles under 1800 pounds with an engine over 50 cubic centimeters (CCs).
• A helmet for anyone under 18 years of age while on a dirtbike, ATV, or UTV
• A USDA approved spark arrestor properly installed on the ATV.
Dust is a major issue in the desert! Please help keep dust down by reducing your speed. The speed limit on the Boulders access road is 15 mph and the speed limit in the staging area is 5 mph. Please enjoy our public lands responsibly!
