Middle Division, Branch Brook Park

Branch Brook Park’s Middle Division lies between Park Avenue, Bloomfield Avenue Lake Street and Newark Light Rail. Its 65 acres were designed to be a transition zone between the elaborate constructions of the Southern Division and the more naturalistic Northern Division. The lake borders a large open playfield for team sports. On the Lake Street side, the gentle curves of the pathway are enhanced with shrubs and strategically placed trees that provide a bucolic counterpoint to the activity in adjacent fields.
